The Government of the Dominican Republic has launched their new official emergency communication app, Alerta Dominica. Residents and visitors with Alerta Dominica on their phone will receive location-specific alerts directly from the government during emergencies, natural disasters, and other time-sensitive situations. During life-threatening events, app users will receive an audible alert, even if their phone is set to “silent.”
