The Government of Philippines has launched their new official emergency communication app, Mga Alerto ng Pilipinas (Philippines Alerts.) Residents and visitors with Philippines Alerts on their phone will receive location-specific alerts directly from the government during emergencies, natural disasters, and other time-sensitive situations. During life-threatening events, app users will receive an audible alert, even if their phone is set to “silent.”
