At least three people have died in a fire in Karachi, Pakistan. The three victims are said to have been trying to rescue trapped workers. Factory management is blaming a delayed response from firefighters for the tragedy. However, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) fire chief believes that there was criminal negligence by the factory owners, as the factory was designed without adequate fire escapes to avoid theft. According to the police chief, the factory was surrounded by huge walls, the windows were barred, and there was only one gate.
