Emergency Alert - Twenty seven believed to be killed during gang violence in Mexicoc

As many as 27 members of the Cárteles Unidos gang are believed to be dead after a clash with their rival gang, the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). According to Unidad de Inteligencia Ciudadana (Citizens’ Intelligence Unit), there were 26 total deaths while other sources are reporting 27. Eight of the victims were beheaded during the incident. The bodies of the victims were transferred to the morgue but have reportedly since gone missing. The conflict occurred in Aguililla, a notoriously dangerous municipality and birthplace of Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera Cervantes, the leader of the CJNG who is wanted in both Mexico and the US.

Emergency Alert - Twenty-two Indian security personnel killed in clash with rebels

At least 22 members of India's armed forces were killed and 31 others injured after a clash with Maoist insurgents on Sunday. The clash lasted upwards of four hours. According to chief of Chhattisgarh police Awasthi, the security forces were conducting an operation against the insurgent group in Chhattisgarh state's Bastar Division when one of the teams was attacked by the insurgents. He went on to say that search operations for a missing security member are still underway in the area. Militant attacks in the states of Maharashtra, Odisha and Chhattisgarh, where the insurgency still has traction, are fairly common.

Emergency Alert - Eight dead after attacks in Kaduna, Nigeria

At least eight people are dead and four others injured after armed bandits carried out a series of attacks across Kaduna state, Nigeria. According to Samuel Aruwan, the Commissioner of the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, the attacks took place in Chikun, Giwa and Kajuru local government areas. During one of the attacks in Chikun local government area, the bandits fired at a vehicle, causing it to roll over. the accident resulted in six of the total deaths and the four injuries. Governor Nasiru El-Rufai sent his condolences to the families of the deceased and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

Emergency Alert - Fourteen injured after suicide bombing in Indonesia

At least fourteen people are injured after a suspected suicide bombing outside of a Catholic church in Makassar City, Indonesia. The two suspected bombers died in the blast, but at this time no other deaths have been reported. According to Indonesian Police Inspector General Argo Yuwono, the suspects detonated a motorcycle outside the church during Easter Holy Week services after they were denied access to the yard. Police say that no one has claimed responsibility for the attack and that the anti-terror unit has launched an investigation. Authorities are currently looking into which networks the attackers came from and if they were associated with any recent arrests of suspected militants.

Emergency Alert - Many dead after attack in Ebonyi state, Nigeria

A number of people have died after suspected Fulani herdsmen attacked several communities in Ebonyi state, Nigeria, Monday night. The exact death toll has yet to be determined; a local source has claimed that at least 18 people have died while the police have only confirmed six dead. In addition to the loss of life, the attackers also burned vehicles and looted private property. Law enforcement officials have begun an assessment in the area that had not concluded by the time of reporting; however, they intend to hold a press conference once adequate information has been gathered.

Emergency Alert - Bus accident in Mexico kills seven

At least seven people are dead and four others are injured after a bus was involved in a collision near Acambay, Mexico. The bus driver lost control of the vehicle at about 6 am on Monday before sliding into a ditch. The four who were injured were transferred to a hospital in Acambay to be treated. The bus was heading toward Saltillo and was only an hour away from its destination when the accident occurred along the Aculco-Acambay highway. Initial reports indicated that there were more than 30 people on board the bus at the time of the accident but according to authorities, those reports were inaccurate. Only 11 passengers and two drivers were involved.

Emergency Alert - Nine Covid patients dead after fire at a Mumbai hospital

Nine Covid-19 patients, mostly senior citizens, have been killed in a fire at the Sunrise Hospital in Mumbai, India. Six of the victims were on ventilators at the time. The fire began on the first floor but very quickly spread all the way up to the third floor. According to the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB), none of the building's fire preventatives, including sprinklers, were not working. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has ordered an inquiry into the incident and compensation of 500,000 rupee to the families of the deceased. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has also ordered an audit of all Covid-19 hospitals and health centers and the mayor of Mumbai, Kishori Pednekar has ordered an inquiry into how the hospital was allowed to operate in a mall.

Emergency Alert - Five dead after gunmen attack passenger vehicle in Pakistan

At least five people are dead and seven others injured after gunmen attacked a passenger vehicle in northern Pakistan. The vehicle was traveling from Gilgit to Niltar Bala when the attackers opened fire from the nearby RC bridge. The shooters have yet to be identified. All five of the deceased were from Niltar Bara, where the bus was returning. Those who were injured were transferred to the Gilgit Hospital for treatment. Authorities arrived on the scene and have begun gathering information in an attempt to track down the perpetrators.

Emergency Alert - Three dead after explosion in Pakistan

At least three people are dead after an explosion in Pakistan's northwest border town of Chaman. Twelve others were wounded in the incident. All three deceased victims were innocent passersby while the majority of the injured were police personnel. The blast was caused by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) targeted at a police vehicle during routine patrol. According to local officials, a motorcycle was packed with explosives and detonated as the police vehicle got close. Balochistan province, where Chaman is located, has had many security issues in recent years. Both ethnic Baloch separatists and the Pakistani Taliban have been active in the region, carrying out attacks on both security personnel and civilian targets.

Emergency Alert - Four killed by gunmen in attacks on villages in Kaduna state, Nigeria

At least four people have died after gunmen attacked two villages in Nigeria's Kaduna state. Three died when the bandits attacked Ungwan Lalle village. The attackers had initially attempted to barricade the Kwanar Tsintsiya road but were repelled by troops and vigilantes. However, during their retreat, they fired upon the village, killing three residents. The remaining victim died when the bandits attacked Niima Clinic in Golgofa village. Three other members of the clinic's staff were also injured in the attack. This offense comes during a tumultuous time in an area where such attacks have been on the rise.
